Elf on the Shelf-Harleigh

The Dean's do "Elf on the Shelf" (which is an elf that comes out in Dec and reports back to Santa whether the kids have had good or bad behavior). Kids are not suppose to touch the Elf and are suppose to name them. While I was over at the Dean house one day, I saw "Pea" the Elf and had a conversation with Landon (2yrs old) about the elf-

AA (Aunt Awesome): "Landon, who's this (pointing at the elf in the key box)?"
Landon: "Pea"
AA: "What is Pea?"
Landon: "An elf"
AA: Are you allowed to touch Pea?
Landon: "No."
AA: "Does Pea tell Santa if you have had good behavior or bad behavior?"
Landon: "No, Harleigh does!"

That boy cracks me up! So true though, Harleigh is a bit of a tattle teller!

Christmas Program 2012

Below are some pictures from Harleigh's Christmas program. She was a little shy on the stage this year, but after she said she had a lot of fun and wouldn't stop singing her Christmas songs the rest of the day!

A little about the Family

As we wind down 2012, I thought I would give a little update on the Kamm family:

Zak- Zak is enjoying his work with New American Mortgage as a Loan Banker. He's also has taken to the game (I'm purposely not calling it a "sport") of Golf. He blames the kids and I for his high scores as golf is a 5 hr game and to find time to play with two little ones is limiting. I keep reminding him, I will want to learn to play when we retire, and if he gets too good, I won't be fun to play with. It's also better for other golfers out there that Zak stays off the course, as he has been know to hit shins and heads with his balls. He also has been playing basketball at the YMCA and we were able to watch him play in the first Charlotte Christian Alumni Game. Zak stays busy with home projects and obviously our two kids keep him on his toes. He looks forward to more sleep and continuing to spend time as a family in the coming year.

Harleigh- Harleigh is our princess. She loves make up, dress up, arts and crafts, and everything girlie. Surprisingly she's not into cooking, but she is very much into Cook-IES! We've noticed over the past few months that she eats more and will try different foods and textures. She also has started gymnastic class at school on Thursday's, and will be doing dance this winter. She loves spending time with her brother and trying to hold him, even though there is only a 7lb difference between the two. She's easily excited and has a positive look on everything. Her communication skills have improved over the year and she speaks more clearly and in sentences now. She's also potty trained! Of course, her big girl undies are princesses! Next year, we look forward to seeing her interact more with her brother and continue to show love to everyone. (The Kamm mantra: "I'm a Kamm, and I show love.")

Lawson- Lawson is our cuddle bear. He goes by "Laws", "Lawsa-li","little bug", "Chunkers", "Doodle Bug", "Lawsie", "Low-li", "La-La", "Lo-lo", "Big Guy". Harleigh has really been enjoying coming up with different names to call him. We're convince his name will be the last thing he learns to say. Lawson loves exploring, crawling up the stairs, opening and shutting drawers and doors, eating finger foods (meats, cheeses, puffs, mum-mums, sweet potatoes, avocado, bananas, and grapes are some faves), chugging bottles (mom stopped pumping at 9 1/2 months so we'll see how long the freezer full of milk lasts). Lawson has not mastered the art of sleeping through the night consistently. And after 9 months of no sleep, mom and dad are exhausted (more daddy, as he does a much better job of hearing the little bugger). But, even with lack of sleep, he's a pretty happy, smiley baby. He's beginning to become a bit more stubborn and upset when he doesn't get what he wants. We are working on walking (he  enjoys cruising), talking (he says "mama", "dada", "baba" (bottle)), and some sign language which Lawson thinks is a joke and loves to clap at! We are enjoying spending time with this guy and continuing to watch him grow and develop. In 2013, we hope he sleeps! That's it, just sleep through the night!! :)
